Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response And Updates.

The health and safety of Twende’s community is our priority. With recent news around the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to make sure Twende members know the best ways to protect themselves and others when sharing rides. During these uncertain times, we all must do what we can to help protect the well-being of one another. Considering the recommendation for minimal social contact by the government, we encourage you to:

  • We encourage drivers to equip sanitizers in their vehicles and passengers to carry them as well

  • Wash your hands frequently. Cover your nose and mouth if you have to sneeze or cough, and use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content.

  • Please cancel your trip if you are sick. Twende will fully refund your trip contribution or carry forward to your next travel on a mutually-agreed basis.

  • Drive with the windows open when possible, to increase ventilation, and regularly disinfect vehicles surfaces.
  • Avoid crowded transportation hubs/bus stations by choosing to picked and dropped at a preferred location indicated by drivers

  • Avoid handling solid cash by taking advantage of Twende’s cashless form of payment from the comfort of you phone

  • The CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO) are continually updating their sites with the latest information about travel warnings, new outbreaks, and disease developments.

  • We will continue to monitor the situation, provide updates and new information on our website

  • Twende has a long-standing commitment to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming community, so we discourage discrimination of any kind as sharing is at the heart of carpooling.

We are closely monitoring, updating and training our team on the best practices during this time. We want to discourage spreading panic, false and unverified information. Stay calm, share your trips with love and care. This too shall pass - if we act together, we shall overcome!
